Horizons Welcomes Ruth Moreno as Director for Ecosystem Engagement

Posted on: December 17, 2025

The Horizons Project team is excited to announce that Ruth Moreno has joined our team as Director of Ecosystem Engagement.

Ruth is a Dominican Afro-Latine strategist, facilitator, and organizer with over a decade of experience building coalitions, strengthening political infrastructure, and supporting organizations to work more cohesively toward shared goals. She specializes in designing alignment spaces that bring diverse partners together, deepen trust, and generate the clarity needed for coordinated strategy and collective action.

In her role, Ruth will support the development and implementation of processes that enable effective cross-pillar and cross-network organizing across the Horizons ecosystem.

A core focus of her work will be supporting and expanding Horizons’ Big Tent organizing, which brings together members of key pillars—faith, business, labor, veterans and military families, professional associations, civic organizations and arts and culture institutions. She will help Horizons connect to and move together with other conveners and network nodes leading similar broad-based pro-democracy efforts. In close collaboration with other team members, Ruth will work to deepen our existing movement capacity building efforts with a wide range of audiences and sectors within the pro-democracy, anti-authoritarianism space.

“I’m excited to work alongside the Horizons team and partners to strengthen the connective tissue of the pro-democracy ecosystem. In this moment, the need for true cross-pillar, cross-network organizing is truly urgent,” she said.

Ruth’s work is rooted in a deep commitment to justice, healing, and cultivating ecosystems where people and movements can collaborate more effectively and thrive. Outside of her professional work, Ruth is a mom and finds grounding and renewal through time spent in nature.

We are thrilled to welcome Ruth to Horizons and look forward to the leadership, care, and strategic vision she brings to this critical role.
